Tofu

I only started trying Tofu when we moved to the states. I’d never really even heard of it back home and now I absolutely love it.  I was pleasantly surprised to find my meat-loving husband loved it to. It is a fabulous meat subsitute and has some great health benefits:

  • Offers great antioxidant protection.
  • It is low in saturated fat and has no cholesterol.
  • Rich in minerals that provide energy.
  • Can reduce the risk of heart disease.

Recipe: Oven baked Tofu

Prepare in advance. Slice the tofu in half. Using paper towels soak up the water from the Tofu for about 15 minutes. Drizzle with sesame soy sauce on both sides and leave in the fridge for a few hours. When ready to use, place in the oven at 350F and cook for about 45mins to an hour depending on how you would like the texture. I like my tofu to be quite firm… and enjoy in salads, stir fry’s or just on it’s own!
