Raw Food Diet

Why not try the ‘Raw Food Diet’.  Raw food is not cooked or heated; it is food in its most natural form.  The belief behind this diet is that cooked food stresses the body because organs such as the liver, heart and kidneys all have to work overtime to eliminate this food.  Below is a list of pros and cons for the raw food diet, from this, you decide whether it would work for your body or not.

Pros:

  • Very cleansing, healing and refreshing for the body – perfect in hot summer months.
  • May improve digestion and increase vitality.
  • Environmentally supportive.
  • Helps remove toxins quickly.

Cons:

  • Can be too cleansing for those with sensitive digestive tracts.
  • May not be suitable in winter months as the body craves warmer foods.
  • Too much sugar from raw fruits can lead to sweet cravings.

Experiment with raw foods, try having one meal a day that just consists of raw foods and record how you feel in a food journal.
